This year, the organization awarded the most safety awards ever; 115 vehicles received the designation, topping the previous record of 66 in last year's evaluations. Honda certainly has been eyeing the awards it seems. As IIHS spokesman Russ Rader comments, "Honda is really the most improved. Ten of the 18 new vehicles on the list are Honda or Acura models and their engineers went to the drawing board and improved the roofs to do better in rollover crashes."¹ Wow! What a great accomplishment for the Japanese automaker.
